CONFERENCE CONCLUDINGS PREVIEW

WASATCH CONFERENCE CONCLUDINGS

Did you know that last season was the first time the top two seeds did NOT meet in the WFBL Concludings? The Gators look to continue that trend by making it back-to-back Concludings appearances.

SEASON SERIES: TIED, 9-9-0

SEED: 3
RECORD: 89-66-7
OUTLOOK: We've said it once, we'll say it again: never count out Kobe in the WFBL Playoffs. In both seasons that his teams have made it to the playoffs, they've reached the Concludings. Al Thornton and Gerald Wallace get the nod over J-RIch and Shaq, but this week the big question mark is PG.
Rajon Rondo was the Gators' best point before he went down to injury. Will he be back at full strength, and will that even be enough?

SEED: 1
RECORD: 92-65-5
OUTLOOK: The only other time the Sundancers started Andrea Bargnani was in a 7-2 Week 13 loss to the Gators. Thanks to the Amar'e injury and Villanueva's short week, Park City is going to have to take that chance. We all know what Wade can do, as the EBP runner-up has been playing out of his mind lately. The wild card for the 'Dancers is All-Star Kevin Durant, returning to the lineup after being out since Week 18. If Durant can stay in the game all week, expect Park City to take this one, despite having fewer games.

PREDICTION: 6-3

WORLD CONFERENCE CONCLUDINGS

Fun fact: The A-Boms are looking for their third straight Concludings appearance, while Coach Barnes is looking for his fourth. The Igs, however, hope to reach the title game for the first time, via what would be their third victory over Zermatt this season.

SEASON SERIES: IGUANAS, 13-5-0

SEED: 2
RECORD: 88-70-4
OUTLOOK: The Igs get the chance to take down the A-Boms when it counts, and LeBron James' recent play should be very encouraging for 'Caibo fans. Short weeks for Boozer and Okur mean Okafor and Big Z will need to step in and carry the load. The Igs have owned Zermatt this season; can they make it three-for-three?

SEED: 1
RECORD: 89-70-3
OUTLOOK:
The A-Boms are the playoff veterans, with last year's Concludings and this year's regular season EBP Chris Paul heading the charge. Paul we know about, but what of Zach Randolph, Al Jefferson's fill-in? And Mike Miller subbing for Concludings vet Rashard Lewis has us scratching our heads. But even so, it's just so hard to count the Abominables out, especially if they bust out their St. Patrick's Day Green alternates (a Zermatt-Maracaibo tradition).

PREDICTION: 5-4
